Data deletion

1. Overview

This page explains how to request the deletion of data that we process via our Instagram accounts and our app Echo Studio. These instructions also apply if you have connected an Instagram account to Echo Studio.

2. Which data is covered

• your Instagram-scoped ID and, if provided, your Instagram username,
• comments, story replies and messages sent to our accounts and our replies to them,
• the status and timestamps of automated conversations as well as pseudonymous check values that prevent duplicate messages,
• for a connected Instagram account, additionally the access token, the permissions granted and information about the posts and stories of that account.

Much of this data is deleted automatically after 30 days anyway. Details are available in our privacy policy.

3. Request deletion

1. Email us at kontakt@heyitssara.de with the subject "Data deletion".
2. Tell us your Instagram username so that we can find your data. If you like, also mention the post or story you interacted with.
3. We confirm receipt and delete your data within 30 days. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation by email.

Alternatively, you can send a direct message with the words "Data deletion" to our Instagram account.

To make sure that nobody requests the deletion of someone else's data, we may ask you to confirm your request with a short direct message from your Instagram account.

4. Disconnect Instagram

If you have connected an Instagram account to Echo Studio, you can revoke its access yourself at any time:

1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.
2. Tap the menu (☰) and then "Settings and activity".
3. Select "Website permissions" and then "Apps and websites".
4. Under "Active", select Echo Studio and tap "Remove".

Echo Studio can then no longer access your account. We delete data that has already been stored upon request, as described above.

5. What happens next

• We delete all personal data relating to your Instagram account from Echo Studio, including conversations, message content, access tokens and encrypted identifiers.
• We also remove the pseudonymous check values that prevent duplicate messages. If you interact with us again later, you may therefore receive an automation once more.
• Data in backups is deleted when the backup is next overwritten as part of the regular cycle and is not used in the meantime.
• Data that we must retain due to legal obligations is restricted from further processing instead of being deleted, and deleted once the retention period has expired.

6. Data held by Instagram

Comments and messages that you write on Instagram are also stored by Meta as the operator of Instagram. You can delete them directly in Instagram, for example by removing your comment or deleting a chat. Instagram's privacy policy applies to processing by Meta.
